Trout Run Brush Depository
Exeter Township manages a brush depository facility for the convenience of its residents and is available for use by residents of Exeter Township and the Borough of St. Lawrence. The deposit area is located at the Trout Run Sports & Recycling Complex at the intersection of W. Neversink Road and E. Neversink Road.

The brush must be generated on a Township or Borough residential property and delivered by the property owner. Landscaping companies doing work on residents’ properties are not authorized to use Trout Run.  No commercial use is permitted.

The facility is monitored by cameras at all times.


Hours of Operation

Hours that the facility are open are subject to change.

During Daylight Savings time (Spring to Fall) - 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, every day.
Not During Daylight Savings Time - 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, every day

The system will lock at these precise times and you must be outside the gate or you WILL be locked in!

**Please note:  The Trout Run database is updated at 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and at that time the gate will lock for approximately 10 minutes.  Once the update is complete the gate will reopen automatically.**


Access Cards
Township Residents can purchase a Trout Run access card at the Exeter Township Building (4975 Demoss Road) weekdays between the hours of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Registration requires proof of residency or land ownership either via a drivers license (proof of residency) or a paid tax receipt (proof of land ownership) and a cash or check payment of $25.00.  To apply for a new card, residents can complete the Trout Run Application form and return it with the payment in person, by mail or in the dropbox in front of the building.  The access card must be renewed annually (January 1st) and there will be no refunds once a card is purchased.   

One card will be given per household.  There is a penalty fee of $600 for anyone who is caught using a resident's card not living within the registered household and the cardholder will lose all user rights to the Trout Run facility. 


Rules & Regulations

  • All yard residuals shall be deposited directly into the area indicated by signage.
  • Materials accepted at this facility are Christmas trees, brush, grass clippings and leaves.
  • Yard residuals hauled to the site in plastic bags must be emptied into the appropriate area.  No plastic bags are to be left at the site.
  • Only yard residuals are accepted at this facility.  No other type of lumber, trash, waste, municipal waste or garbage is accepted.  Dumping of any prohibited materials at Trout Run carries a fine of up to $600 per offense. 


Mulch

Mulch is available for free to be picked up anytime during Trout Run hours of operation for residents who want to shovel it themselves and have a Trout Run access card.


**Please note:  Township-made mulch is made from brush deposited at Trout Run so it is untreated and contains weeds. We advise sprinkling a weed killing product over mulch used in landscaping.**
